The Bunny Chat Thread - For Bunny Owners

It'll take some time to be able to pick him up, but the more you bond with him the easier it will become.

Grooming is pretty simple, with short haired rabbit you can use a comb and go down their back (not up it) until the loose fur it out, this will work well around areas with shorter fur. As for the thicker parts you can use a dog brush to detangle any fur and a comb to get it out. Just be extra careful with slicker brushes as they can hurt his skin. Remember, the less handling the better. Don't try to do it while he's in your lap or while holding him. It's best to set him on a towel in an area he's familiar with. Start by petting him then use the brush or comb so he doesn't notice. Make it quick and fun for him. Give him a little treat afterwards too.
If his nails are long you can use a small puppy nail trimmer. Its best to use a phones flashlight and set it under his nail while you trim it so you can see what you're doing. Be extra careful not to cut past the quick. If you do happen to cut past it use a paper towel and hold it there until the bleeding stops.

Here are some of my favorite grooming videos as well as one just for long haired rabbits like yours
TY for the information. I ordered a dog flea comb

I took Bunny pictures, not much else to say about them but when I take pictures I will post them.

I’m not a fan of rabbit; granted I’ve only ever had wild rabbit that my husband brought home so I don’t know if a domestic rabbit would taste the same?
Hi IM! Domestic rabbit is similar, but not the same as chicken, as some people claim! I prefer chicken as rabbit meat is quite lean & even when they are young they aren't as tender as chicken! We are raising rabbits for food in case the economy tanks. Since things aren't real bad yet, we are going to try & sell this first litter!

I got rabbits for emergency meat, I am hoping I never have to resort to that because the meat has a strange after taste that I can not stand. But I can trade the meat for beans or something else. I actually prefer leaner meats but the aftertaste being so ... strange I much prefer chicken breast and I better because I have about 20 giant chicken breasts in my freezer.

That's why we bought our rabbits & it does have a different taste. I prefer chicken wings, thighs & legs!

So pretty the other day I was looking at a ad of a rex pair black female and brown male they were so pretty. I wish I had space so I could buy them.
Once yours is fixed, if you want to get another one I would ask the owner if he or she is already fixed. It'll save you the time and money too
