The Bunny Chat Thread - For Bunny Owners

Still might spay them. I am not sure if you have to, but I will research. I guess that is why they are getting along so well because they are the same sex. They snuggle together all the time and play with each other.

I gave them some paper towel rolls and a rabbit chew toy for now. I have to run to the store tomorrow to get some more toys. I have to look up what they like.

Where do you buy you hay?
I get hay at TSC. It is still recommended to spay female rabbits because they have a 70-90% chance of developing reproductive cancers by the age of three if you do not spay them. My bunnies love these toys from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Kaytee-Perfe...1&keywords=rabbit+toys&qid=1591296740&sr=8-26
They also like slinkies and cardboard, especially the girls. They enjoy shredding cardboard (not boxboard).

Thats the exact rabbit toy that I have from Amazon. They have not played with it much.

I will set an appointment up with the vet in a month or so. I am not really supposed to go anywhere because I am in the at risk category. I will bring them when my dogs go to the vet in July. It will be a family affair.

What else do you feed them?

I am looking at hay at TSC. I was getting some from amazon, but the price has increased by a lot.

I give them MannaPro rabbit pellets. The girls and my smaller boy get 1/4 cup and my bigger boy gets 1/4 cup and some change. If you decide to get the same kind, get MannaGro until they are 6 months old. Mine also get veggie scraps. Research to make sure the scraps are safe.

I have been feeding mine 2 cups mixture of homegrown lettuce, mint, thyme, parsely, turnip greens. Sometimes I will add apples or carrots to it just because I have extra from what I am eating for the day. I will have more greens as the season starts to cool down.

I got a list from my friends vet on what to feed them and I grew everything on that list in my garden.

I give them about 1/4 cup of pellets and all the hay they can eat. They never run out of hay here because we always have a huge 18 gallon storage bin full with different kinds. I got the Kaytee Supreme Rabbit Food.

Make sure the formula for the feed is right for baby rabbits! I think they are supposed to have unlimited pellets until 6 months.
