Daphne was being quite aggressive today, she growled and nip my arm! She's tired of her babies being messed with...silly girl, but she's being a good mama! They have really grown, but their eyes are still closed! A couple looked a little skinnier today! The mini nipples are out for delivery and will be here soon! I'm hoping I can get them to take in some formula to get them plumped up! If they won't, I will bring in the plumper babies again tonight and give the others a chance to nurse! I will then try to get the ones I bring in to drink some formula! I can't remember if I shared here that we lost 2 , we now are trying to keep the remaining 11 alive!

One of my bunnies is bad one of the dug there way out so I spent my morning chasing bunnies thank God for my neighbor she sent me these this morning

Known for having huge litters, I learned the hard way that huge litters are not always good. Mama Rabbit will be eating constantly. I was filling J feeders 3 times a day, and eventually started putting up 2 or 3 water bottles because I could not replace them fast enough. With all that work and me suddenly discovering I did not like rabbit meat lead me to give up on a meat rabbity. However I loved having rabbits in general and when I finally came up with a good plan I came back to having rabbits. Gotta have those poo balls for the garden.

I just fed a Hemp Leaf (not Cannabis) to one of my rabbits. I know that Cannabis leaves are fed to live stock to increase appetite so they can put on weight faster. But is Hemp in general (not the appetite increasing kind) good to feed a rabbit. I have hemp growing so I can add the seeds to my scratch grains. Hemp seeds are super nutritious for humans and chickens. The rabbit ate the hemp leaf in the time it took for me to change out her water so she must have liked it. I am sure its safe (or she wouldn't eat it) but I am wondering if I can feed it like its food or feed it like its a treat. I did some research but it seemed to be drug legalization propaganda and not information made by people with the health of the rabbits interest at heart. Anyone know about Hemp as rabbit feed?

Oh no! Trying to catch bunnies is not fun, especially if they are having a good time and don't want to be caught!

Huge litters are a little nerve wracking! We have our chickens and rabbits on a shared gravity fed water system, so thankfully I don't have to worry about that to much until the weather gets to cold for it and we have to switch! Poo balls are definitely great for the garden.

I don't know anything about hemp for rabbits....I do know that hemp is great in the coop, especially if you are doing the deep litter method! I'm growing Comfrey for my rabbits and chickens...they love it!
