thats a 10gal tank, i thought it would be to small right from the get go, but it seems to be ok, i will probably have to swap out the food container, as i think the male was already standing in it.

They are really pretty. And you set them up in a nice miniature palace. They will be happy little campers.

The color is blueface, the white pattern on his face and belly makes him tuxedo. So he is a blueface tuxedo. Tuxedo and pied can come in any color but are just different ways of differentiating the amount of white on the bird.

How can you tell that it's a blueface? I always get confused when there are combinations of colours. I really need to get a chart, lol

How can you sex it as well? Or is that just done by the fact that it crows and doesn't lay eggs?

There are cinnamon, silver, and the blueface tuxedo. I call the blueface tuxedos just tuxedos since it sounds better in my book. Shelley is right that the white indicates the difference between the tuxedo and the pied even though the term is interchangeable. Jodi McDonald once said "A pied is a pied is a pied" due to the confusions that persist. So when in doubt, just say pied

because it is a pied

It is easy to sex tuxedos because they do have a red vent. The white is a big more difficult. I vent sex them.

You can tell it's blueface by the markings and color of the feathers of the back.
