The BYC Book Club

Those are great authors! Which Laura Ingles Wilder book is your favorite? Her books weren't read very often in our home although we have all of them. I think my favorite one would have to be "These Happy Golden Years".

Oh and I decided not to read Les Miserables since I'm not really in the mood for another tragic book

. I'm now re-reading for the millionth time "Rilla of Ingleside".

My favorite would probably be ''Little house in the big woods'' or ''farmer boy''. It's been a few years since I read them. I should read them again when I have more time...
I was thinking about listening to Les Miserables, but didn't feel like starting a book that was over 60 hours long (It's nicknamed ''the brick'' for a reason!) and I've also heard that the author gets off topic a lot (like a huge section describing the design of the paris sewers!)
I love the Anne of Green Gable series!
Have you read ''An old fashion girl'' by Louisa May Alcott?

Oh, the "Farmer boy" was really good! Yes! It was good really good. I'm always surprised when I read Louisa May Alcott's books because I can relate to them very easily even though they were written over 100 years ago. We always kid around in my family that Little Women is a story about me and my sisters because we each fit (not completely but pretty well) one of the March girls' description and in correct age order!

I read the Penderwicks awhile ago, I didn't realized they were a series! I've never read The Mystery Series but I looked it up and its placed in a time period I enjoy reading about.
