You're the OP ....

Have you perused the HP lexicon? http://www.hp-lexicon.org/ It's a great resource.

I liked the actor Richard Harris, but I thought his portrayal of Dumbledore was pathetic. I don't mean to speak unkindly of the dead, but the fact that he has passed away doesn't change the fact that his Dumbly sucks.

I know what you mean. My father-in-law was a minister. He said anything that is not of God is of the Devil. I'm sure he's right. But how far must we go to do right in God's eyes? Each one of us must listen to our own God given knowledge of right and wrong. (As depicted in cartoons as a little angel on one shoulder and a little devil on the other giving us advise.) Is that a handy excuse? Another thread for that, please. I don't think there's anything wrong with escaping for a little while into the fascinating fictional world of magic .... as long as we realize that that's what it is. And I doubt if anyone has advanced from enjoying HP to worshiping the Devil.
I could tell you some interesting stories about Catholics, but that's not in good taste, and I don't want to smear your relatives by association. Let's just say that if the original intent of Priests chanting in Latin while swinging a smoking incense burner isn't to impress the flock with mystery and magic .... then just exactly what is the purpose????

What do you mean by interesting? Sorry, sorry, That's probably of the subject, But speaking in Latin and useing an incense burner is not about "mystery and magic". Terribly sorry if I dampened the mood for anybody but I just had to put that point across.

Do you like Harry Potter?

It took me a minute or two to figure out that RP means "roll play". Or at least after thinking about it for a while I've concluded that's most probably what it is.

I'm still able to set the clock of our microwave, but I have never set up the messaging and other stuff on my cell phone. I have no use for it. I say that to demonstrate that there may be an "out-of-it" old coot reading, so write stuff that an idiot can understand. (I learned that last part from an advertising exec.)

Now that I'm done with the part that seems to be a bunch of bi---ing, I should lighten things up ... but all I can think of is that I need another cup of coffee.

OKAY. I've had more coffee. I'm happy as a clam. (I've never understood what a clam has to be happy about.)

So .... do you mean that we should Google "Harry Potter roll play" ..... or there's a thread on the BYC forum , in the "games, jokes, and fun" topic .... I'll look around. Nothing but time. Nothing but time. Although, if we have that heat wave of forty degrees they're predicting, I may go outside and wander around. Hope I don't get lost. Oh well. Nothing but time.

Another Potter fan here.

My husband actually got me to read the books. Love the books better than the movies. Our daughter watches the movies but won't read the books

I keep telling her the books are better, but I always think that.
