THE BYC TRAVELING MASCOTS

I'm new to BYC and haven't read all the posts on this thread but love the idea of BYC mascots. It's sad to read that the mascots are out of circulation, and I know it has to be super frustrating to the dedicated people who started this and to the ones that have faithfully kept the mascot tour active.
I think the vest idea is great...could someone possibly create a vest pattern that we all could use? We could sew a vest for a new mascot that we could donate and put in circulation after we take pics of it.
I'm going to go back and finish reading the thread now.

I do sort of feel like I've run aground with this effort though, nothing at all you said Lori, but maybe someone new can shoot new life into the effort ..really. One of ya'll, or both of ya'll together or whatever, talk to a Mod and feel free to start a new thread, no hurt feelings or resentment or anything else but alot of good wishes for you...I promise, put me on your list even and I'll take the Mascot to the race track again, we have a new car this season. I really am quite ok with someone making a committment to take over this effort since it really is dead in the water right now. Maybe someone new can round up these old Mascots and start them again or start new ones..however you want to do it, I will support you.

This has been a great adventurous thread and I for one would really hate to see it end. I have not had the opertunaty to have a visit from a Mascot Yet. But I have loved the adventures that have been shared by the true Host and Hostesses that have recieved and forwarded them on.

Yesterday was my Birthday and Dh came with a surprize for me. So we had an adventure of our own. After we all went out for steak dinner I headed out to the greenhouse, my help with me.

Then he saw the color over on the east side

Dan wants to help transplant some Kohlrabi

You got to be gentle taking out the baby plants, Thanks for offering to help.

Oh look there is more colors over here, looks like a good place to hide....

Dan took a sit down visit with DB (David Bowe) They got along like they were old buddies

Hey are you still at this?

Hey let's turn up the tunes and get busy

Hey do ya have any of these boots in my size? Oh I will take my flowers outside of the boots.

Then Dan noticed that there was some wood to split.

After awhile I looked for him, not by the radio, not hiding in the flowers, wood was split and DB was sleeping. So where did Dan Go?

Here is where I found him

Chicken was tuckered out, he had worked hard his first time in the greenhouse.

This morning Dan told Noah about the work he did and the stories he told DB.

I hope you all have a better Day and I will keep Hoping that the BYC Traveling Mascots show back up

Thanks, I just wanted to share my Great Birthday gift with all.

I laugh till I had tears in my eyes when DH brought Dan into my office and had him dancing on my desk.

DB Is Handsome isn't he? He likes to be held and has become a wonderful addition to our family. He sings with the radio while I'm out in the greenhouse. He's a hoot.

Noah will show him as a young Rooster this year in 4H. Lovemychix gave him to us, and we are so happy she did

Well just felt we all needed a boost around here. It has been just a big work of Love that SE and the reporting Hosts have done.

I sure hate to see that it may go down the crapper.

So there maybe further adventures of Dandy Dancing Dan to come

I think Dan and David Bowie are both great! Thanks so much for sharing those pictures.

I'm sooooooo disappointed that so many of the mascots are 'lost'. I certainly understand the harder economic times possibly making it harder for people to mail them forward but I know there are ways to work that out.... just ask here. The person who's supposed to be receiving that mascot next may be willing to help with costs and if not at least let people know that you have the mascot and just can't send it on for whatever reason.

We loved having Pippi here and now I have to go break the news to Popper that his sister and brother are MIA! He's not going to take that real well. Oh boy, I'd better make up something chocolate to help heal his wounds.

(Or maybe that's to heal my wounds!

Thanks SE for the good wishes for the greenhouse. We have delayed our Grand opening for another couple of weeks due to the wind damage and stuff. Good thing we hadn't advertized it yet.

Yeah me too I was suppose to be getting Pippi next but she got stuck at the SanDigeo (sp?) Zoo I think

Yes DB is awesome, we think so

He might be a little bit spoiled though.

Can't remember the name but some girl was in it (a damsel in distress of course!!) and David Bowie was the bad guy in a dark castle, seems he took her there in her dream? Really old movie and I only remember bits of it, I think some dark haired boy saved her? Handsome roo though, maybe he can be a movie star too!!
