We just got four calves for the freezer. I have never had any before. We have eight acres for them to graze on. Any tips?

Ummmmm, where are the pictures? How old are they? You will love having your own home grown meat, it's a whole lot better then the supermarket meat. Tips? Always view them as dinner. Try not to get attached!!!!! Raising cows for meat is a lot different then raising chickens to butcher. At least for some people. I don't have to see our steer everyday because he's down the street at the neighbors getting fat so for me getting too attached hasn't been a problem

Can you provide a little bit more info to know what type of tips to give you? What breed are they and how old are they?

I think they are jersey mixes I know 1 is full jersey. The Rancher where we got them said 2 of them had Angus in them. They are all Bulls but have been banded so soon to be steers. I'll get some pictures up soon
