OMG I have never laughed so hard in my life reading something - and it warmed my heart so much because it made me think of a story my mom told me recently after my father passed away.

Your story is my father thru and thru
big_smile.png
. He and my mom married when I was 6, she had us 3 kids and he took us all on and adopted us, I couldnt wait to call him Daddy

. Dad was a Marine and did 3 tours of Vietnam in his career before retiring *backstory*. Years and years later, after retirement and now working as a civilian for the gov't - Dad had to have his first ever operation for a hernia. In the hospital as they were in the recovery room - they allowed Mom to come in but Dad kept "shooing" her away through the glass door. She couldnt figure out what he was doing so she walked in and he began "coughing" and threw on a hospital mask. She asked him how he felt, if he was in pain, and then asked about the mask - he said it was a "precaution" , mom thought nothing of it, and she continued on - you know all the typical conversation between a husband and wife before after a procedure. Dad kept mumbling and Mom said "what honey? I cant understand you." He said something again - and Mom said "WHAT? Do you have something in your mouth? Do they have a tube in your mouth? Why are you covering your face dear?" Dad then dropped his mask and said "Could you hand me my TEETH?"

My Mom said "WHAT?! They pulled your Teeth?! But you came in for a hernia operation!" She was VERY upset! My dad waved her off and told her sit back down... told her to reach in the side stand and hand him his teeth - she just looked at him and said "You dont have false teeth Tom! we've been married for over 20 years and I would know!" He told her again, look in the side stand...and there....were his top teeth!

He lost them when he was in his 20's during one of his tours of 'Nam while saving a friend.....

All that time, all those years... and she never knew and he never told her - we never knew either - until then

I hope the OP found her teeth...

Oh man, wish I lived close to you. I have an uncanny skill of finding stuff other people loose. As a child, the elderly neighbors in our neighborhood would always call for me to come find stuff for them and dentures, medicine and keys were at the top of the list. I'm still called upon to find stuff others loose.

But, on the flip side of this, I can't find anything I loose. I will tear my house apart looking for my glasses, only to be told when DH or DD come home that they are on top of my head.

Maybe you should sit down and try to retrace exactly where and what you did that day when you got up to look for DH's meds. I'm thinking by now the dogs would be showing signs of distress if they ate them. Good luck in your search and hope you locate them soon.

well still have not found my dentures.

might get lucky someday and find them...
