It's working (showing him who's boss) however Katie don't have the heart to kick or push she thinks she's hurting him so she just puts her hand down and says "NO" and he immediately backs away. He is pecking you saying, "hey girl! Scratch my back!" Your husband doesn't so much, so Pigpen thinks. "Oh, ok, I'm below him." Not saying you have to stop petting him and rocking him to sleep. Just make sure he doesn't bully you around.
