I am going on holiday tomorrow and a French friend is looking after my 5 chickens for 2weeks. They are free range in the garden which is chicken proof ( Or so i thought)!!!
I decided to clip their wings so he wouldn't have any worries about them going in the trees.
4 were caught with little fuss and behaved very well, including the Roosters But I have one young Hen who is always awkward. She decided to run into the chicken fence as fast as she could, panic because she could not go any further and ran up the fence and over into the trees behind my garden.
I panicked it is impossible for me to go after her and the thought of the Fox getting her was too much.
I called my husband (who isnt that into the chickens) to help. I managed to find a way round to the back of our garden by illegally going onto someone else land and pushing my way in to the very tight line of fur trees and brambles!
I could see her just outside the garden fence.
I pushed my self further in after her and came face to face with a VERY dead cat "poor thing" and poor me.
My husband and I managed to corner her on branch and I caught her.
She's now safe and sound with her friends
