The CHICKEN MATH Contest- Who has the worst case?

Wanted 4, or perhaps 6, well, maybe 8. (Already showing symptoms of Chicken Math before I got any chicks home from the feed store..)

Didn't want bantams; what!?! Midget chickens!?! How silly! Fell in love with Cochins, didn't even notice the Craig's List ad mentioned "bantam.". Came home with a couple... That broke the dam. Now there are bantams and large fowl breeds in my flock of "about 50."

Uh...plus a pIr of Toulouse geese, then some Cayuga ducks.. They bred (imagine that -so did the chickens!) and now I have 26 Cayugas and one call Duck I actually incubated and hatched.. He had a lady call duck wife but she disappeared shortly after I move my flock to my new house and property. His new wife is one of the Cayuga girls. Then I hatched a couple of turkey poults...

Just ordered diapers for a special needs rooster...

Mine is an Extreme case, I suspect.

Orignally wanted 4 total.

Have 8 at this time.

Will be culling a rooster.

Have ordered 10 more for the spring.

Have plans to expand coop, husband made sure original coop was expandable,

Level - Mild at the present moment with the ability to become extreme.

Wanting to add a few more this spring

OK here goes.

I wanted 6 BA
got
2 BA, 2 CW, 2 EE
Why.... DH did not want all black chickens. So I actually only have 2 at this point.
I wanted to get a couple more BA's. Saw an ad in the paper and went to check them out.
NO BA's
Came home with
1 GLW, 1 BO, 1 Splash Hamburg and 1 EE
Why? Because they were over crowded and plucked pretty badly. Could not walk away.
I still at this point only have 2 since DH is the one that said we were not leaving them there.
I still wanted some BA's
Went to the feed store. Came home with:
3 SS, 2 Delaware and 3 BA's
DH wanted the variety in the run that is why we got the SS and Delawares.
BA's turned out to be JG and one SS was a ROO so I still only have 2 chickens at this point. Re homed the roo and the JG's to a friend. Nice place for them.
Why? Because DH should NOT go with me to the feed store or anywhere there are chickens.
Tried again
Got 2 BA,s and a BO. One BA was a roo so once again re homed to another friend. Could not let him live alone so he took the BA and BO with him that he came with.
Gave up on more BA's. Went to the feed store to get feed.
They had SSH and of course I just had to have some.
Came home with 4 SSH. Sadly one did not make it more than a couple hours.
THIS MEANS I ACTUALLY HAVE 5 CHICKENS NOW!!!
The BA roo was re homed on the fourth of July. I was very sad to see him go so DH was reading the paper and saw an ad for pullets. He called it and low and behold we headed out on the 2 hour drive.
NO BA's of course.
Came home with
1 BO, 1 BW, 1 Blue Andalusian, and one itty bitty little bantam cochin.
I chose the cochin so now that makes 6 chickens that I actually am responsible for being here and DH has 15.

My case is moderate but could worsen come spring.
DH.... well his case is rather extreme. I do believe there is no hope of recovery.

Wanted: Basketful of colorful eggs to gather from backyard nesting boxes

Was told by Boss I could get: 6 Chickens

Went to the feed store and got: 6 Chicks ... of every breed available (Boss should have checked the fine print!).

That made: about 6 Dozen chicks, various breeds & sizes

Adopted: +2 Sebright bantams

Adopted by Boss: +1 more Rooster

Bought: +5 rooster chicks

The rooster chicks "mysteriously" came with: +1 day-old turkey

Bought: +4 more baby turkeys to keep the other company

Adopted: +2 Ducks

September chick season came: +25 more chicks, various breeds

One week later: +25 more chicks, more various breeds

Hen went broody, boyfriend stuffed random eggs under her: +6 more chicks

Another hen went broody, boyfriend stuffed duck eggs under her: +4 more ducks

Found Turkey eggs the week before Thanksgiving, was told "Don't Hatch Them!": +0 turkeys

Thanksgiving: -5 Turkeys (so sad, we LOVED those turkeys!)

Another hen went broody: Sitting on various eggs, but having issues, so I'm not counting those eggs before they hatch

Grand total: Over 100, but who is counting?

Diagnosis: Deadly

Prognosis: Feed store starts taking chick orders again in January!

2 years ago I wanted 4, then 5, then 6. Okay 6 was a good number. Hey what about 7! Sure, well one more, so 8. So my friend got 12 and she said I could have 3 of them. I go to the feed store a week later and come home with 5. Oh, they didn't have a EE, so I had to go the next week when they had them. But then my friend and I decided that she would just give me 2. We get to the feed store and, aww look at those ones with the EE's! What are those? Anconas. So we came home with one EE and an Ancona. that made it 9. Couple weeks later my dog got the EE!

We still have those 8, and I am planing 3 or 4 in the spring.
So my case is Mild. But if my parents were not there then I would have gotten every chicken from criegslist, petfinder, the newspaper and word of mouth. I want ducks too. Oh and I want bantams. :)
