Greetings all,
I currently have my young chickens in a coop that connects to a chicken run that also connects to a much larger grazing pen.
Currently, they are too small to be out in the larger grazing pen.
I would like to get some vegetables established in the grazing pen before the chickens are old enough to go out and forage in the grazing pen.
The vegetables would be largely for the chikens to consume, since I already have a large vegetable garden for my family.
I am in the foothills of Southern California, currently in our hot summer mode with sunflowers, tomatoes, corn, melons, pumpkins, peppers, artichokes, onions, herbs, cucumbers, eggplant growing nicely.
What types of vegetables would one choose to plant, for the chickens to peck at easily to supplement their diet?
