Awesome! What beautiful dogs! What breed?

Do you house them with the poultry or just put them with them during the day? We're thinking of building a barn for chickens and future goats to live together and was curious about how folks house their LGDs.

The best way to raise quality chicken protection dogs strts at day one, my gp's think they are hairy chickens

If we ever venture into LGD ownership I'll have to read up. I figured they lived with the animals they were guarding but wasn't sure.

Those are wonderful looking dogs. I just want to snuggle right up to one. I bet they wouldn't do so well in our rather hot summer climate in California (North Bay)

FarmerDenise , while i know folks in CA with GP's, i dont think it's the best climate....they arent big fans of summer here in va...i do have tons of shade for them to keep cool, as well they blow those big heavy coats for summer, you are not suppose to clip the dogs either, they have white skin and burn very easy
