I have a brahma and she has feathered feet - she is hatchery grade so not the best for sop. But, those feathers get dirty, broken, and can be more susceptible to leg mites. I keep an eye on her and her leg feathers.
My polish coop will be completely covered, as polish are not especially heat OR cold hardy, and are vulnerable to skin infections if not kept dry, according to my research.
All in all, a GREAT chicken to keep in Vermont, where winter lasts half the year, and the rest of it is either wet or hotter than hell!

I am keep waffling. Every time I think I have decided not to get a BCM, I see a picture of one or of their eggs and want one again!
