The Chickens On SURVIVOR Heroes vs Villans

Hi, I am new here, and may get laughed off the forum for this crazy question, but I love my kids so here goes... I was thinking about adding a few new chickens to my "Flock" of six, and my daughter, who just turned eight suggested we get the kind they have on SURVIVOR, because they are so pretty. Does anybody have any idea what type they might be? I figure there is a chicken crazy member of BYC out there who watched the episode when they caught the chickens and said, hey those look like" __________ "
So all you experts, any thoughts????????

I don't watch Survivor so I can't help. But that sounds like a mighty fine reason to get more chickens.

BTW- I just tried to find a pix of the chickens and couldn't find one. They were being called feral chickens, so maybe they are mutts???

i don't watch the show but could they be jungle fowl?

I think they are mutts, no two of them was the same color, but they were all small and finer featured than anything I have seen here in Maine. Maybe that is just what happens when they go feral?

Where was that episode shot? Maybe we can google feral chickens in that location. Might be some images out there.

I saw the episode and I thought the chickens were awfully easy to catch. Aren't true jungle fowl wild, not feral?

To me they loked like Game chickens.

look on feathersite.com and see if any of the breeds look similar and then you can start searching for breeders.

Well, it was episode 3 that started it all... she liked the one the heroes are chasing in episode 3, and the grey and white speckled one in the net, most of all. You can go to CBS.com and watch episode 3 to see what I'm talking about. I am trying to find pictures of them I can post on here for you...

survivor freak here - I tried to ID the chickens and got nowhere myself, but I've only been a chicken freak for three years and I'm still learning.


I don't like Russel, Jerry or Parvati - I would be happy to see anyone else win.

okay he looks crazy and that rooster is not happy... you don't hold a chicken like that!

With how staged all these shows are they probably put chickens on the island just for the show.
