we've been calling and calling trying to get a meeting with the city. They are not returning our calls which is...interesting. :/

We will get a lawyer if it comes to that.

Yeah, and we will if they don't call back soon, what we're afraid of is finally getting my SO off work early enough to get down there and then being told no one will meet with us. I know you're probably wondering why I can't go alone but I have Autism and I can't do stuff like that by myself, I need my service dog and my significant other to help me.

They still haven't called back. It's really pissing me off royally.

I would be pissed off if I was a neighbor, not part of this dispute and YOU turned me in to the city to justify the complaint against you.

It could get ugly with more neighbors....

So we moved our roosters indoors so they no longer exist (or shouldn't) and rehomed our ducks except our indoor duck who also shouldn't exist. Ha ha...

However the dispute with the neighbors has gotten worse on other fronts as far as harassment. It's a time-will-tell thing as far as whether or not they will say the complaint is resolved or not. Tonight though a cop came by so I am inclined to say they will not..

Do you own or rent? If you rent I would be looking for another place with more property and I would check the zoning laws before moving in.
This situation truly sucks but the law is not on your side. It's clearly unfair and subject to the complaints of people who have an ax to grind but the laws are on the books and may be hard to fight.
In many towns there are town code enforcers who ride around looking for code violations---unpermitted fences and swimming pools, stuff like that. But when enforcement relies on the complaints of neighbors it can get awfully ugly.
Sorry you're having these issues and I hope it all works out but it sounds like a little bit of Hell in that neighborhood.

Moving isn't an option. I am considered a renter but my father is the owner and he literally bought me a house. I'm the inheritor. It's my home. I can't just sell it and move..

Anyway. They came and gave me a misdemeanor today of all things. All my chickens are now gone.
