" well there was this one time when some people from the outside broke out a bunch of kids, but since then they upped the security here. i heard it from a kid that didn't get out when it happened, but then he got taken away. im just hoping they come again before i get shipped off." kyda said with a tinge of hope in her voice.

kyda put her hair back into a giant braid and let it flow down her back like Rapunzel's hair.

kyda tied and un-tied the bright red ribbon on her dress over and over again getting bored by the second. she remembered the day her mother had given it to her. it was when she was seven, she was standing in a meadow with her mother and she was holding her hand, when her mother gave her the only ribbon her mother had, she had tied it around her waist and then wore it every day. when she was ten her mother had died, leaving her with her dad, when she was taken she chose to have the ribbon as her one possession. she fought back tears as she thought of her mother.

(Winter's mother gave her her locket!) Winter looked inside the locket seeing a picture of her family and started crying.
