A slim girl of Maltese heritage fixed Mae with her blue-eyed gaze. "What was that?"

Analiyah, in the cell right next to Mae, dragged her fingernails along the ground and tapped her foot as she waited for the reply.

"Nothing.... I just told that girl that she shouldn't test the guard's patients, and she did it anyways. And look where it got her." She yawned slightly. She crossed her arms over her chest as she slouched down farther against a the wall.
