Joshua stumbled around in the crowd, which was moving around into the main floor of the building. He looked around to see why they were there. Jenna had stepped up to a small makeshift podium. As he thought about it, it became obvious that this was like the center of operations.
Seren hesitantly left the medical ward, after she had made sure that Prisoner 450209A would be taken care of. There was a crowd gathering downstairs and she curiously joined them.
Jenna stepped up to the podium and said in a voice that only public speakers could, "Well, I bet you're probably wondering what's going on and why you're here," she began. The crowd came mostly to a hush, then a buzz of excited whispers rippled through it, as she had expected. She waited patiently for them to quiet down once again. Her body felt like she had been in a stampede, and her head throbbed painfully. Someone shoving through the crowd of kids toward the podium caught her attention, and he was much taller than the rest of them. Probably because they were all kids and he was 29.
Will stepped onto the podium with the others, and Lindsay embraced him, pulling him into a deep kiss. Jenna and the others didn't seem to mind, though. They were married, after all. Will pulled away after a while and leaned over to whisper something into Jenna's ear, and her eyes widened in shock. "You're sure about this?" she asked, and he nodded, "Yes. They've put too much work into this operation for them to stop."
Jenna was about to reply again but stopped when she remembered the sea of kids expecting her to say something. "We'll talk more about this later." she said, and he noddee, stepping back with the others, slipping his arm around Lindsay's waist.
"Anyway, you know the elections that have been going on? You know who won? The One Who is The One. He brought an entirely different form of government, called the New World Order, with its Council of Ones. The One Who is The One, The One Who Judges, The One Who , etc, etc, etc. But that's not the worst part. You wanna know why you've been locked up? Why every kid in the City is being taken away from their families, their homes, their lives? Because we've got an imagination, because we're creative, because we think, that's why we're dangerous to them. They wipe out any threat to them. If it isn't worshipping them, it's gone. Books? Gone. Music? Gone. Freedom of Speech? Gone.
