Lucy is such a sneaky chicken!

All day she's been lost, and when I searched for the last time and didn't find her I cried all the way back to the pen, and then saw her standing right there, wanting to go into the coop! I hugged her and even though it's unsanitary, I kissed her little head . She's one of my favorites, I couldn't bare to lose her.

That's good Lucy wasn't missing! :cd when I found my hen wattles hiding behind the lawn mower dust bathing I picked her up and brought her inside, than of corse she shook her feathers and a whole lot of dust came out

I think Lucy and Silva are plotting for some chicks. Now Silva is gone, and I have a suspicion that Lucy came from a large blackberry bush group past the barbed wire fence, a great spot to lay. Silva is probably letting Lucy go back to the coop, considering she is more of the stay at home and be safe one, while she protects the eggs.

Mika has just started eating veggies and fruits for the first time in his life! And so far, he loves carrots.

On June 18th he will have been under my care for three years! Now that he likes to eat fruits and vegetables, I can actually make something for him that he'll eat.

No, he was probably about a year old when I got him. My parents got him and Mixie (who flew away when their cage was outside during a move) for my birthday and kept it a secret until the day before my birthday.

What breed is he? I think I've seen the same breed of bird around and they're smart!
