Maybe people get confused about the difference between them and why it's important to leave a review instead?

Very possible there might be some confusion. We provide peeps the ability to do either (or both) so they can comment and even discuss an article without having to submit a rating or review each time. There are pros and cons to all the different configurations / options, but so far we've found this is the best combo.

The other thing that comes up is the difference between a "rating" (just the stars) and the review (stars AND a text comment). Ideally we'd like to see reviews for each article.

A lot of the coop articles are listed as having 0 ratings. I can click on the link to add a rating which indicates that I have not rated the article. There is a section at the top right that will have a rating for the coop article will how many have rated it.

Sorry, I'm having a hard time following (been a long week).

This coop has 1 review and 5 ratings:

... and it is not showing up for me on this page:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/pages/coop-rating/

Keep in mind that the page above shows coop pages in order of "Reviews", so a coop may have 10 ratings, but 0 reviews, and it would show up on the top of the list.

So, if there's still confusion, let me know more details and another example or two, and I'll take a look!

My Memory may be faulty but I thought that all of the coop articles had a review during the first phase of the project. I am surprised to see a bunch from 2013 show up without out them and thought that the reviews were lost.

It also seems like I may have reviewed these before since my trophy points have not gone up even though I am sure I have rated at least another 250 since reaching 1000 articles reviewed.

I have not rated an article without reviewing it.

Not that it matters much about the points since I will still review them

There shouldn't have been any reviews that were lost... but it's possible in the previous version of the query that we had extra limits on the coops to be reviewed... like a date limiter or something similar that excluded them... but I don't remember exactly what the query was that created the results for the previous version of the page.

That said, if it seems like you're sure you've reviewed an article in the past and that review is now gone, please let me know and we'll dig into it.
