....why such a difference?

I really have no idea, but I just kind of assumed it was sort of a "Might as well ask? Who knows maybe some one will pay it now and again?"

But maybe it's just the economics of what it cost them to raise the bird to age and make the % mark up that they set out to make as a business.

Just new to selling chickens so I have a question. I raise light brahma chickens and when I looked on the site of the hatchery where I bought them as chicks the juvenile brahmas we're an outragouse 110.00 a piece. I don't know why or if the breed is something special or what. I always see chickens selling for $6-$10 a piece....why such a difference?

After looking at the link OhZark Biddies posted, that must be the cost of one bird INCLUDING the cost of shipping. At least that is how Cackle had their prices listed.
