~The Council Of Youngers of BYC! (COY)~

I did that for biochemistry, which I remember virtually nothing about these days. After I spent so long memorising how to draw a glucose molecule too... (Don't be fooled by the symmetrical simplicity of the chemical formula) I guess it all depends on one's interests.

I was considering dropping biochem, but I'd already switched out of medicines & drugs (my school seemed to be of the opinion that everyone willingly studying chemistry was doing so to become a doctor) and I didn't feel like teaching another topic to myself, because that was what it was coming down to.

Thanks for all the year level conversions, by the way. I still haven't managed to compile a comprehensive directory of American terms, despite having watched at least a few minutes of every well-known movie to come out of Hollywood (some of them four times - our TV stations are very creative like that, or they just like their profits.)

Well that's brilliant, you should do quite well in those subjects then. They shouldn't be too stringent if circumstances beyond your control are involved, there are usually pathways available to accommodate all sorts of new arrivals

I reckon trying to sound awesome on the phone is easier sometimes, because one doesn't have to expend energy on making sure one is making the appropriate amount of eye contact. So good luck!

Oh, no problem. I just hope I'm getting it right. It does get weird in highschool. I think up until 8th grade the numbers match, but then we have weird words for 9, 10, 11, and 12. XD But here:
Freshman = 9.
Sophomore = 10.
Junior = 11.
Senior = 12.

You're probably better-educated on American pop culture than I am, honestly. We don't have cable and we're too poor to go the the theater, (unless it's something that we fangirl about, like The Hobbit!) so unless we rent a DVD, most of Hollywood is lost on me.

It's so bad that my family stares at me if I actually know a celebrity's name.

Thanks! I'm hoping so. I'll have to take the placement tests while I'm here in Missouri, (that's one of the random shapes in the middle of the US, and I'm in the process of moving to Washington, the random shape in the upper western corner. Sorry, explaining the US is entertaining XD ) and hopefully submitting my results won't be an issue.

Brilliant, I have heard all those words before, which is always a good sign :lol:
I don't really follow celebrities, so despite probably being able to recognise many by appearance, the number of names I know is quite minuscule in comparison. I also don't think I've ever diligently fangirled over any series - I've yet to actually finish one, besides Harry Potter because those are on TV yet again every few months. :P

Well I hope it works out for you!
I know where Washington is, because there aren't all that many states in that corner :P Missouri I've heard of (because of my hobby of collecting random trivia, such as the fact that half of Kansas City is actually located in Missouri. I hope that's right, otherwise I'll have to start honing in my observational skills again, lol.) but I only have a vague idea of its location.

When I have free time I do Sporcle quizzes, and one of them in US states. I don't think I've ever completed it without cheating before :lol: My record is 47 or 48. There are always a few I forget. It's a different few every time too.

I same on the celebrity stuff too, we finally got Cable after of eight years of not having it >.>

Woot! ...That's a good thing, right? I don't actually know what Cable is, we might have a different term for it here. We only have free TV, which means lots of ads, but I don't tend to watch much besides the movies (on Friday and Saturday night) and the news.

Well it actually satellite XD

Well we don't have satellite, and we don't know many people who do. :P Some of our friends do though, and we used to go watch the spring festival gala at new year...

All right, I'll take your word for it! :old *doesn't know what any of the terminology actually means*
