~The Council Of Youngers of BYC! (COY)~

Wow, I wish we had a subject with exam worth 30%. Geology's was 50%, which is already a huge discount from the norm.

They like to keep us awake come exam time. :p

I got the gneiss question right. The multiple choice part was very easy. It falsely raised my expectations...

50... I would have died. I don't think I could do a semester's worth of work and still have the final determining so much of grade. Toooo much pressure, 30% was hard enough. Especially consider how many exams we did throughout.

How so?

That's probably the difference then, we didn't have much coursework, just a few practicals and short weekly assignments.

I finished multiple choice thinking, acing this exam!

Then I got to the next section, read the first question, and went "Rats, I'm dead". :p It didn't get much better. I was looking up the answers afterwards and it suddenly dawned on me: I left a WHOLE TYPE OF CONVERGENT PLATE BOUNDARY out of my answer to the question worth 15 marks.

Although there were lotsy lots of questions about metamorphic rocks and controls on metamorphism so my frenetic re-noting was put to good use.

The boiler was fixed this morning. Was unceremoniously extracted from slumber at 7:45 in the morning by the doorbell. I didn't know people actually did work that early round here...

The thermostat and the "element" needed replacing. Hot water should be back by tomorrow.

A quiz every week and a full out exam every other. Except January, we lost a bit of that month... :p

I am very good (As are many of my friends) at coming up with the correct answers on a test shortly after its over. Subsequently, I have also become quite an expert face-palmer, I can even do it with a table in the cafeteria. Well, that's more of a face-desk/table, still works. Yep.

Count yourself lucky. That is like seeing a unicorn around here! Repair peoples actually arriving early or near on time!??!!
Do you realize what we'd have to do around here to actually get them to arrive within their two to three hour time estimate (Which is usually unconventionally set at noon till two) let alone in the morning.
Once we had someone scheduled to arrive here at 10 in the morning. Came here about two and mowed down my garden wall with their truck....

Yep. We have no luck with them. Don't even get me started with movers. Or woodchucks.

Woodchuck...

Wood chook...

Would chuck...

I'm making an animation about engineering. I'm not sure if it's eligible for entry into the engineering film competition which I was originally going to make a film version for (what do you guys take to be the meaning of 'cinematic'? Include animations?) but it still looks pretty epic and one never knows when an animated short film about engineerinv might come in handy. :p

plus I've managed to somehow do the whole thing in Powerpoint so I'm putting this down as greatest recent life achievement no matter what use it comes to.

The guy was back at 7.30 this morning to adjust the thermostat. Why today! I was about to keel over from exhaustion and I have an exam this afternoon followed by a jigsaw puzzle date. One needs maximum alertness for jigsaw puzzles, does one not. (it's a 1000pce one and everyone has brown or purple hair of the same shade. :p)

Around here, they don't even call you back.

A general contractor could make a killing around here just by knowing how to return calls.

Oooooooohh! lol, that sounds awesome.
And you've done the whole thing in Powerpoint.... Man, I wish I had that kind of talent! :clap *Mopes silently* All I've ever done with Pp were a few lame'o lil presentations.
(I believe so, at least certain ones.. lol)

How'd the exam and the jigsawing end up going? Survive the exhaustion? :p lol, what is it of?

Sounds like our cable company!
They are the only one that can reach us (no competition) so they figure they can take their time replying, fixing the junk they installed poorly, etc. :th
