Ash stood up, nodding stiffly to the girl, he turned and walked back into the forest.

Ashling pulled herself onto the shore, gasping with shock. She looked around. All was quiet. She saw a boy, Ash, was it? Walking away, but there were no creepy seals up here. But the seals had planted a seed of longing, and it was only growing.

Ashling also caught sight of a girl. Was that the girl that tried to help Alana? she wondered. She doubted anyone that she didn't know well, like Clover, would recognize her seal form. They would probably just think it was a seal.

 

[Kale the Quail]

Clover woke up and stretched, grunting when she realised she felt sore all over. She stood up and found yellow flowers in a pile next to the dust. Ash had formed letters in the dust that said, when you wake up rub these onto wherever is sore. She followed the instructions and headed out of the cave. It was a sunny day and there was no one around. She smiled, she hadn't had a day like this in weeks. that's what comes with living alone. she thought happily.

Ashling continued to stare at the water, refusing to move. She had long ago transformed back into her human form, but she stayed, rooted to the spot. Should I join my people? Or should I stay on the land with the people I know? she wondered

Why would I join them? Ashling wondered. I mean, they seem kind of creepy to me, and I know all of the people up here. But the selkies are my people...She put her face in her hands

Ash was heading up the path to the cave, when he stopped. He glanced guiltily towards where the skyscrapers of the city were visible. He sighed and turned away from his house. He stepped towards the city. paused. He turned to go back to his house. paused. He groaned quietly. He put on a smile and headed back to his house.

 

[Starburst]

Ashling stood up, but stopped. She was a step away from diving into the sea, or walking back to the forest. She froze, half of her telling her to go back to the forest, while the other half begging to join the selkies.

 

[Kale the Quail]

Clover looked up and saw Ash coming towards her, she waved. "how are you?" he asked.
"I'm fine." she said.
He laughed, "so am i. so what's your power?"
"I can manipulate things." Clover said, "so watch out." she joked.
Ash grinned, then it slipped off his face. "So, I might go to the city."
Clover stopped smiling, "What?! are you INSANE!? that's crazy! why would you do that?!"
Ash replied, "yes, I'm going to the city, and i don't think I'm insane. I don't think it's crazy, and i would do it because the humans are scared of us and if we showed them that we're nothing to be scared of or learn more of their reason of why they kill us, we might be able to live normal lives."
"THIS" Clover waved her hand in the air, "IS normal. what more do you want?"
"THIS," Ash said, imitating her gesture, "might be normal for you, and don't get me wrong, it's normal for me, but do you really want to be hunted everyday of your life for a reason you don't know? for no GOOD reason? do you want to live in the woods until a hunter catches you and they kill you? do you want to live everyday in fear for your life?"
