Crow exited the store, having been kicked out by the shopkeeper. He was either deaf or Rebecca just had really good hearing, as he hadn’t noticed the screams. He sat down on the ground, dejected. Maybe Anita just went to the forest.

Anita screamed even louder

Lunaka and the rest of them went to the edge of the forest and Lunaka waved to them, "come back tomorrow, early morning."
Ash nodded, "Bye," with that, they headed into the forest, Squilf clambered quickly up a tree as if she'd been climbing that particular tree for her entire life. Then she ran out onto the edge of a branch and soared to the next tree.

Rebecca was finally too frightened to go any further towards the screams. It's probably one of the cursed, she realized. Rebecca started back to her house
