Rose picked up a pocket knife, and held it out in front of her. ‘ Don’t you dare get any closer!’ She screamed, panicking.

Rebecca stared at Rose. The other girl was squeaking and appeared to be waving a toothpick in the air.

Lunaka looked around the town and started walking towards her house, suddenly, she was knocked down. "ow! hey, get out of the way!" a voice said.
"oh, sorry." lunaka said, stumbling to her feet.
"hey, haven't I seen you before?" the other person said.
Lunaka shrugged, "I don't think so."
"You look familiar, where did I see you before?"
Lunaka shrugged again, "who knows?"
The other person shrugged and turned away.

Lunaka was heading back to her house when she heard feet pounding behind her, "hey! stop where you are!"
she whirled to see the person she'd crashed into running towards her, "I know where I saw you before! you're a cursed one!"
"No I'm not!" Lunaka said, but the hunter was quickly approaching. Lunaka turned back around and started running

Rebecca stared at the 'toothpick' that was now hurtling through the air. It bounced off of her wing. There was a brief prick of pain, and then it was gone.

Rose grabbed a heavy book and flung it at the bird, trying to hit it.

Rebecca frowned. Rose was going insane, wasn't she? Didn't Rose know that Rebecca already knew how to read? The big bird sighed and shook her head sadly.

Ashling watched the scene, then ran forward. "Hey! Leave her alone!" She said, trying to appear intimidating. Which probably wasn't that intimidating, seeing that she was a 13-year-old girl with a missing arm.

Lunaka tripped over a loose stone in the road and fell to the ground, the hunter gaining a couple of feet in the time she wasn't running. She scrambled to her feet and continued running.

Rose was making squeaking noises again. It was getting kind of annoying. I'm here to serve, she thought. Wasn't that obvious?
