"Is Ash alright?" Ashling asked.

Lunaka ducked her head and replied, "Ash is dead."

Crow shuffled ahead, not wanting to look back at her. He felt like the most awkward person on the planet.

Ashling gasped. "That's terrible!" She managed

Lunaka nodded as she pushed open the gate to the garden and went into the house.

Hixel found a blueberry bush and plucked a handful.

Alana stayed curled up on the floor.
