Imogen burst into tears and fled. How could her cousin do this to her?

Jordan watched Imogen run away, and he did his best to choke back the tears. "Well, so are yours." He retorted to his uncle. "And besides, I have some good friends. Go ahead, try to burn this forest down, or take me to the city and hang me or burn me, but you will never, ever, be able to kill the gifted completely."

“Goodbye Jordan. Nice knowing you” The uncle cackled and walked towards the town. “We burn your girlfried at sunset and burn the forest tomorrow I have decided” he said over his shoulder as he walked away. The two men with Amity followed
 
Jordan looked up at the sun. It was a little past noon, so he needed to act fast. Running into the forest, he called for help. "Please! Help! One of the gifted is going to be burned at sunset." He searched frantically, and, hoping that if anyone heard him would go to town, he raced as fast as he could towards the town, determined to save Amity
