yep a couple days in the fridge and he would have been more tender. Glad your son is ok!
 
Did you try to rehome him first? I have many roosters (silkies, black giants, gold lace cochins(standard) and showgirls). Luckily no one has been mean to humans.
 
I currently have 2 roos, one was supposed to be a pullet.

Nonetheless, I totally agree if one of them came after my kids or myself....... he is done. And that goes for any of our pets.

I certainly wouldn't try to rehome him knowing he can be aggressive and cause injury. I'm not the type of person who wouldn't tell the taker the truth and chances are if I did tell them they probably wouldn't want him unless their intentions were to eat him. So taking care of the problem yourself was a good and tasty decision.
