That is very true - I used to dislike broccoli, but now I love it with lemon & red pepper flakes.

That sounds delicious!! I like it steamed. :love

Yup skeeters 24/7/366 and we had no winter this year, so bugs will be swarming. I've had snakes in the hpuse before, but non-venomous & only twice.

Oh boy I do not envy you! Haha Ive seen two mosquitoes already including one a few weeks ago :th

I would scream if I saw a snake in my house haha

Do you guys have ticks there? Year round ticks would be another big nope from me!

The only way to cook asparagus is grilled or roasted, IMHO.
Cabbage looks to be on your diet, @Blooie, and that is delicious roasted with garlic. I add salt and pepper but it would be good with Mrs Dash too. I cut it into steaks before roasting, from top to bottom so that the stem holds the steak together. It takes a long time, like 45 min.

Agreed!! And that sounds delicious!!!

That's a good way of cooking cauliflower too...cut into steaks, season and roasted. Yum!

Never heard of cauliflower steaks!

And IMHO the only way is to steam them :D

How about carrots? Raisins? If both are OK - Coleslaw!!

I like steaming lots of other veggies but never tried asparagus haha

Coleslaw is good but I’m not a huge fan :lau Blooie might be though!

Yes think ticks are everywhere, but only time I had ticks on me was during a nature walk while in Georgia. I use Advantix on the dogs for fleas which kills ticks too. I see snakes when I mow, but only in the house when the ground gets super saturated. You just pick them up & toss them outside.

That doesn’t sound too bad then!! Here they’re everywhere and you can easily pick up tons in one walk. They have Lyme disease here too.

And that’s good then! I’d still scream and run though and make someone else do it :lau

Well, when you're on your own there's no one to scream to.

:lau touché! You’re braver than I though hah I probably could if I had to but I’d be grossed out. I actually kind of like snakes, oddly, and want a corn snake eventually, but wild ones creep me out haha

your thread peaked my interest and while I haven’t read it’s entirety yet, I found some intriguing recipes from the kidney kitchen at kidneyfund.org they are separated into breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desserts and by low-med-high levels of things to be avoided (sodium/phosphorus/potassium). ones that really caught my eye were the persian eggs, and lemon mousse! AND not many blueberries! :lau
