The Duck Thread

My two duckies hanging out in the coop with the chickens and big duck

Im struggling finding appropriate feed for these ducks...and also struggling finding niacin that is not flush-free. This is what led to me looking for a better feed. Does anyone here have any experience with Dumor feeds from TSC? I was unable to find any food other than chick starter at the local feed store and drove an hour away today to see if I could find anything. I ran across chick starter/grower 20%. It specifically states it is "a complete feed for starting chickens, ducks and geese; and growing chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, quail, pheasant and chukars. It doesn't list the amount of niacin in the ingredients. Any input would be great....I just want these ducks to have what they need! Thanks in advance.
Game bird feed or turkey feed, will work just fine..

Been using Dumor Layer pellets for 2 years with our Muscoveys. 14 hens 2 drakes and getting 8-10 eggs daily. Ducks love it and are doing well on it. Have also used the Dumor starter on young stock with good results.

I have tried pellets and my chickens HATE it, the ducks are OK with it but my chickens are like H*LL NO, give us the easy eating stuff WOMAN. LOL

Thanks for replying, and also thank you Alice28. There is no turkey feed available. The game bird feed came in a verrry small bag and they only had one in stock. I was very disappointed after driving an hour. Brewers yeast has been ordered online...but will not get here for another week or so :) The feed I found was the closest to the game bird feed as far as I could tell...it just really is throwing me off that it is listing chickens ( my best guess is broilers?) I'm really frustrated right now by living in the middle of no-where. At least I don't have close neighbors to complain about all my animals I guess lol

Try a grocery or natural food store and ask for nutritional yeast. That's what we got instead of brewers yeast this time. It's high in niacin to and we were told that is fine to use. It's in the spice section.

Hey everyone! I have a couple question. Can I put ducklings and chick's together? And what kind of shavings should I get for them?
