The Duck Thread

HUM, Ive been using fine pine for years now, never had any issues..
Well that's okay.

We're bound to get different ideas here.

That doesn't mean we're wrong.

Never withhold your ideas just cuz someone else might have a different one, and sure don't be offended if someone disagrees. Not all things work for all people. One size doesn't fit all. If you withhold your ideas then we all lose the opportunity to choose. Right?

Different opinions are good, because my theory is you have to try one way to see what works for you but you have different choices.

If the Fine pine doesn't work, guess what, you switch it up. However, if the fine pine works no need to make adjustments. It all Depends on what works and what's affordable for each and every individual.

I think it's great that we all have different opinions because if we all agreed on the same thing. You guys would be as smart as MEEE. HAHAHAHA LOL, LOL, LOL

I have used the larger pine and the only problem I don't like about it, it's sooo chunky, that is has actually caused leg issues for me.. YEH I know, Some of my babies have had cuts on the bottom of there feet. So for me chunky pine doesn't work, NOT to say you shouldn't try it. Because again you have to go by what works for you..

I guess in my case, I just hatch out very sensitive feet. HAHAHAHAHAHA

Any suggestions of good treats for ducklings? I'm trying to bribe mine into liking me. So far I'm unsuccessful. I was hoping daily handling and trips to the tub with snuggles after would work but they scream like a Banshee the entire time I am close. Chickens are definitely easier for me to make friends with!

Weird question I heard duck eggs were healthier than chicken.. I would like to start eating the eggs do ducks lay eggs like chickens?

Some ducklings go through that terrified phase - my runners did. Heartbreaking. Just try to not loom over them or corner them, talk to them constantly, and here are ideas for treats.

Meal warms, shredded carrots and lettuce! My anconas can be very skittish, I just have to sit with my hand out and finally I'll get one over then both come. My Muscovy is super friendly though! My husband says we need all muscovys! Ares is so sweet.

But they will follow you around if you feed them fresh vegetables and watermelon rinses ,, or dig up worms in the yard that they really enjoy ....

This is Bob & Aflack both will keep their distance from me but come feeding time of the good stuff they will forget themselves and I will have to move them so I can walk by but one thing to remember ducks are like two legged pigs food and water are the most important things in their lives .....
