The Duck Thread

Mi incubator has 2 thermometers in it. The one that came with it is reading 98 and the other is reading 102. How do I know the correct temp? Also when hatching ducks, do I keep the 1 vent open for the first 25 days...is a Hova Bator forced air model? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
you can see how accurate your thermometers are by putting them in salty ice water. Not sure 9 the specifics, but I'm sure you could Google it?

Any suggestions of good treats for ducklings? I'm trying to bribe mine into liking me. So far I'm unsuccessful. I was hoping daily handling and trips to the tub with snuggles after would work but they scream like a Banshee the entire time I am it close. Chickens are definitely easier for me to make friends with!

I have silkies, call ducks, cochins, phoenix, OH MAN you name it I have it.
Silkies are aliens from another planet. Be sure to where your tin foil hat when you're around them. They can read and control you mind. My cat told me.

I have a female ancona who is laying eggs, only problem is she laying them on the porch.
So is there a small house she would like better to lay in than the high traffic porch?

any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

When can ducklings start eating veggies? Also I was wondering what I can put in their water, they are swimming and going under looking for food. They are 1 week old now.
