That cuz you have Silkies. Silkies are sissy birds.

I have silkies, call ducks, cochins, phoenix, OH MAN you name it I have it.

Any suggestions of good treats for ducklings? I'm trying to bribe mine into liking me. So far I'm unsuccessful. I was hoping daily handling and trips to the tub with snuggles after would work but they scream like a Banshee the entire time I am close. Chickens are definitely easier for me to make friends with!

Meal worms or Wax worms. OH THEY LOVE IT. Not to many though..

Mi incubator has 2 thermometers in it. The one that came with it is reading 98 and the other is reading 102. How do I know the correct temp? Also when hatching ducks, do I keep the 1 vent open for the first 25 days...is a Hova Bator forced air model? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Well you need to get an accurate reading, try putting another in there and see if you can get two reading the same..

I believe you close the vents but open them during lockdown.. I keep mine at 100 Temp and 20 to 30% humidity until lockdown then I jack that up to about 65 70

My RH reads50 with no water in the pans, I filled the 1 reservoir according to the directions and it reads 75 RH.

Do ducks need grass and or dirt for their run? We are trying to figure out our coop and duck house as we are hoping to move our four ducks and six chickens outside this week. I have decided to keep them separate but they will free range together in my yard during the day. I think I may use my 12x12 dog kennel with a cement pad for my ducks if they don't need dirt or grass. Does anyone have any ideas?

you can put a layer of gravel, layer of landscaping fabric, layer of pea gravel, more fabric, then sand (some people forgo the pea gravel or sand layer) the concrete will be too rough on their feet and cause bumble.
