    most likely a Raccoon they are the only predator I can think of that does that. I let them out of their house at around 4am and she was alive went back around 11am and found her dead.

    So sorry DD but why would you let them out when it was still dark out and coons are still prowling around.

    one of my young cayugas laid this egg today...so different from the light grey egg my older girl lays everyday

    That's really neat! Are they like other eggs on the inside or are they dark?

    Is this bumble foot? I've been treating with Epsom soaks thinking it was a sprained toe. She had stopped limping after a week of confinement but now she is limping again. She's eating and all else is normal. It just dawned on me today it might be bumble foot. What ever it is, it is hard and more swollen on the top side.
