That was weird..glad you got it figured out.. :frow
Thanks.....I have no idea who or what caused it.... Do you? @City farm

No, but I'm glad BYC steped in quick to remove!! they must be playing or upset with BYC? No one that loves pet's or helping others would do that.. , but whoever did it wanted to make us both look bad & for what ever reason, I have no idea?? God only knows these thing's...

Normal sized. Completely formed. Absolutely perfect. No damage to the yolk. I'm really baffled. The beak was through the center of the air cell through the shell. I had just peeked through the window, walked away, came right back for my keys and happend to glance in again. Beak was pushed through and blood was pooling around the hole.

Definitely sounds like he broke a vein for blood to pour omg that's so horrible. Poor little thing. But some thing had to cause him to fight so hard to do that.

@caesargirl
 - Congrats!  Hope all goes well moving momma & babies to the duck barn!  :fl
Well, momma chipped a bone in my hand two weeks ago when I had to clear a branch out of her nest... But, I live in predator central, babies gotta move. Not to mention, the geese forcibly adopt all babies, not happening this time.

Oh no, your hand!! That's no fun.. Did she peck you? You mentioned a blue egg, remind me, what breed lay's the blue egg??

Yup, she pecked me! And won!
Best guess on my blue eggs, white mallard. She was dumped here during molt. Thought call cross, but she has a long bill and no chubby cheeks. And fully flighted!

I'm a candling addict, but I say yes, candle at day 7 to assess your air cell growth progress. If too small, your humidity is too high. If too large, your humidity is too low. Day 7 is early enough to adjust and get it just right.
Ain't that the truth! Little weeds, I say! Little weeds! Lol
Day 7 and nothing in my duck eggs cracked one open and sure enough nothing but yolk in them

I'm guessing I left them in the nest for too long, not sure? There were 18 eggs, oozers got thrown out and then a few stinkers. I have five fresh duck eggs that I put in....my chicks are doing ok so far though. Kinda sad
