I have had my little flock of runners for three years, so I forget how much there is to learn at first. My first thought when I read your questions was "well, you protect them from predators, heat, cold, and illness, you provide them good bedding and fresh water and nutritious food, and you enjoy them."
It is a steep learning curve. It helps me to remind myself they depend on me for everything, so I need to be compassionate, and pay attention.
So.
Even if you wanted to hatch eggs (a major undertaking, I don't do it yet), the first several eggs it is not recommended to let those hatch. So, take the egg, put it in the fridge, we like to eat them.
She needs enough calcium in her diet. There are many ways to do that. If you have a pair, then a maintenance feed with a bowl of crushed oyster shell for her is a good start. If she starts laying soft eggs, then you need to decide whether to give them both layer feed (it may stress his internal organs to have so much calcium), or give her extra supplementation somehow, like giving her mashed peas with calcium gluconate in them as a special treat just for her.
Please tell us more, and we can answer your questions. Ducks are so loveable, most of us find them worth the effort of care.
And there are some funny duck stories to find here on the forum.
And we drool over photo's.
