The Duck Thread

She just isolated herself from everyone she went into a corner and is just sitting there she has like saliva in the corners of her mouth I don't know if that's normal or what she has drank a tiny bit of water but that's only cause I let the hose shower on her a few times other than that she won't eat or drink she is still quacking a little and walkin around when she has to her poo is very bright green and runny though

Sounds like she is traumatized and rightfully so. The green poop, at least in chickens, means she's not processing the food properly.

I would get her to a vet if at all possible. She may have serious internal injuries. I would do the things I listed, see a vet if I could get to one, and pray.

Well she can move her neck somewhat like normal we took a better look at it today when my husband came home from work and it looks like the coon may have gotten her with its nails instead of teeth like we thought! She ate a tiny bit out of my hubby's hand so we are hoping she will keep progressing and actually eat tomorrow!!!

It also takes time for shock to wear off. I hope you find her doing much better today.

I appreciate your stance on not killing the mink, but he was not little and had his little fangs attached to my pekins neck. it was him or the duck. we have done the same to the possum in the coop after eggs, and the raccoon who ripped of part of one of my ducks beaks, and fox etc. it is life, we let it live unless it becomes a nuisance. if and when TSHTF some day, we will be eating all that wildlife we shoot to survive.
look at it this way, if someone broke into your house and was threatening you --would you throw something to scare them or would you have a shot gun aimed at their chest so you could protect what is yours?
just saying.........
