Yeah, and since they are roosting ducks you don't have to worry about predators.

Well my big drakes would be hard pressed to be able to fly up into a tree to roost so I'd be worried about them out of doors at night and they aren't like Mallard derived ducks that will sleep on the water. So I would be concerned about predators.

My drake and hens sleep on a nest box about 4 ft off the ground without havering any trouble getting up there. The trees by the pond are like stepladders so once they get up there they would have no problem.

What about climbing preds raccoons are awful and so are mink and weasel. 4' my largest drake could probably handle I was thinking up into a tree.

I use vinegar. Works well.

I have a large kiddy pool and I use 2 cup white vinegar pour it in and use the broom to scrub the sides and bottom. then dump and fill..

OK I will do that when I get home thank-you. My wood duck nest box is almost done I will post pictures when it is.
