Ouch!!! That is crazy!!! I known most things are more expensive in Europe but that is outrageous. I'll stop bithing about paying $70 for 3 birds. Shipping is what makes them so expensive for me. Maybe you can find a local farm?

duck breeding is not so popular here and people doing this are trying to keep everyone away with these prices!!

Probably so and not every domestic brred of duck will go broody and hatch anyway, sounds like you may be onto something with hatching and then if you decide to sell just remember how everyone else is price gouging and you sell yours at a reasonable price, you'll have alot more coming your way.And be promoting the fine art of keeping water fowl as a hobby. Keep us updated on when you start what breed you decide on{Cayuga?} and what ever else you want to share. Questions accepted too.

I have a very hard time selling any of my animals so I don't let mine have babies very often if I can't care for them here, mine are for eggs and beauty also. They just have a way of making a rough day seem so much better, they make us laugh too. I wish you the best as you get started.

Wow that's alot of ducks. lol duck eggs must be pretty popular over there. Look forward to hearing all about it. and you may find others in Greece if you go to" Where am I where are you" thread and look up Greece, I know we've had others from Greece come to the duck thread in the past.

Around here it's sell once feathers are in ( 5 weeks and up), $ 5 or so, maybe up to $ 8 for adult breeding stock.

when i see this prices i really want to sell my farm here and move to a state of us

My Muscovy flock consists of chocolates, chocolate pieds, silver fawns, a black (iridescent green in the sunlight), and a blue hen, marked exactly like a blue goose...she is gorgeous.. Currently I have 17 ducks, including a juvenile chocolate drake that will be sold or eaten. I want to find another pair of blues, and will pay up to $ 10 each. (around here, mid Michigan, juveniles sell for $ 5.00 each and adults for about $ 8.00, but I really want to find a pair of blues). My ducks have given me over 600 eggs from April 1st to the end of September, when they quit laying, and that's with three of them taking 35 days off to hatch eggs. I sell the eggs for $ 5.00 a dozen, and the young drakes at $12.00 each dressed for the table..... won't get rich raising ducks, but having the Muscovies is so amusing, and they keep the insect and mouse population down. The big chocolate senior drake, shown in the photo, has more intelligence and personality than I would ever have expected from a bird.

Just feel I need to write it again, brewer's yeast - not baking yeast. I am a little concerned that some day someone might confuse the two.

asuming that you have sixth sense cause i was thinking it was baking yeast ...!!!!!!
Sometimes i feel blessed am reading this foorum before start my farm!!!!!
