I think you maybe right, how about a close up of the face, Runners have their own unique bill too. Sure is pretty

That is a pretty upright ducks so I think you may be right. Cutie for sure!

I was recently given four ducks purchased from tractor supply.

The only feed I had available at the time was starter grower that I was feeding my chickens.
Is this acceptable to use for baby ducks or should I start them on chicken starter?

They seem to be eating the starter/grower (says it if for ducks on the bag) just fine.


Someone I know had their ducks die because tractor supply recommended they feed them medicated feed.

I have doubts that medicated feed killed them. Their haven't been any actual studies that say it can harm waterfowl but most people believe it is not good for them. How old are they?

ETA: I take that back there are some types of medicated feed that can kill ducklings but amprolium seems to be okay.

I don't think medicated alone would kill them, although as Amica said it depends on the medication. I do think that medicated feed + vitamans + electrolits + vitamans can overload their systems.


Not only that but medicated feed is making the assumption that they will encounter virus and problems usually only found in squalid conditions.
