The Duck Thread

My 2 pekin ducklings won't stop trying to eat anything they can possibly find. They ate their pine shavings, so I tried putting old towels, but then they were tearing strings off of them and trying to eat them. Then I tried using paper towels and they ate those too! I even tried laying down newspaper but that didn't work because it didn't soak up the water and they still tried eating it. Whenever I let them out of the brooder they run around on the floor and pick up anything they can find. One of them tried eating a cough drop!

What can I use for bedding that will still soak up the water they spill and they won't eat it? Thanks.

How old are they? Do they have 24/7 feed?

Yes, they have fresh feed and water 24/7. I am unsure of their age, but I would say maybe around 3 or 4 weeks? They have been doing this ever since we got them 2 weeks ago and I solved the problem for a while by putting them in an old bird cage but they outgrew it so I had to move them back.
