The Duck Thread

Thank you!! :D Here she is.. Meet Luci! A beautiful Magpie duck :)
Your ducklings are darling! And I am so jealous you get to have a magpie duck, hehe :) That was the primary choice in breeds I wanted when I researched ducks. I rarely see them at the feed stores here, and people never have them for sale out this way. Pooh.

Ok experienced duck hatchers, eggs pipped saturday 7 p.m. Still no zipping, peeping in some. Temp has stayed at 99, humidity at 70.
I have to be away from home for 7 hours today not sure if i should leave them or help them?
What does everybody think?

Thank you!! They are really difficult to get around here. I dropped lucky. It was an hour and 20 min drive to get her but so worth it!!

What breeds do you have then? :) x

Leave them alone it takes forever for ducklings to hatch if you help too soon you may lose them. then this evening if none have pipped or hatched contact @casportpony or
@Lacrystol they are experienced hatchers and can help.

Ducklings take longer than chicks, so let them be for a while. I had 2 in my last hatch that took 40+ hours, and turned out perfect. I was preparing myself to step in at 48 hours, but mine made it out just before that. Talk to them, sing to them, keep them active and vocal ... but don't panic and help too soon.
