The digital thermometer read 111....I'm freaking out. Checked the chicken eggs that I knew where for sure alive and I saw movement. What thermometer should I use I'm thinking the one I bought is a piece of crap? Hatching can be very stressful, I still have a knot in my stomach from looking at the temp earlier this morning

Wow that's way too hot. Hopefully it wasn't there for long. You need another thermometer and one that you can test for accuracy! What kind of incubator? The "cheaper" ones are notorious for being inaccurate. Glad you still saw movement in the eggs.

A little giant 9300. I'm not sure how long and if that temp was even correct. Not sure what I should do?

Do you have another thermometer or can you buy one? Walmart, TSC, anywhere like that has some for under $10. I would get one with a hygrometer also. Then do a google search to find ways to test it for accuracy. Depending on the kind you get, there are different ways to test. Maybe even do the google search first... that way, when you are looking at them in the store, you can determine if it will be easy enough to test. Old mercury thermometers are very accurate, if you happen to have one, but I don't think they make them with mercury anymore. I ordered a Brinsea Spot Check that is very accurate. Less than $20.
