Getting cold :( I actually live in Gaylord. But the family farm is on the Old Mission Peninsula. Rained all day Saturday. Made working on the coop & TOT horrible. But we got everyone moved to the new coop today. Need to order more fencing and finish the trim then we are finished!

I live in the middle of the U.P. My boys both live and work in Traverse City....nice area to visit. All it's done here is rain and cold lately too.I'm trying to get my duck barn set up for winter.

Mine will walk right up to me and nibble on my boots and eat out of my hand as long as I am holding perfectly still. If I move, however, they will walk away and make sure to keep some distance between us, lol.

So those ducks from the neighbors came back and I have them in my run. They are a pair of pekins. I am torn on keeping them. They are ravenous and eat everything so they obviously need some good food and aren't getting any where they live. However, my drake cannot stand the new drake and aggressive towards him (even though the new drake is much bigger) and chases the duck all around trying to mate with her and stressing her out. They are in their own separate run for now but that's not an option during the winter. I'm toying with the idea of rehoming them, but then I'd be worried they aren't going to go to a good home.

Its like for food they want everything just about to do with you but if not, its all stay away. You have the plague.

Oh no. That is a dilemma. What to do!! I'd be worried about trusting the rehome people too. Even though I will not meet the ducks on here I see and read about I get worried when people say they have to rehome them. So I totally get how you feel. It is a big deal. Kinda like you're %+$+$+$/ if you do and ($($$# if you don't. But on the other hand I have read where the new duck homes are absolutely wonderful. Keep us posted.
