So apparently I'm dumb when it comes to chicks. I figured they would like lettuce as much as ducklings, but apparently not. I put a big bowl of chopped lettuce in their brooder thinking they would all go crazy for it. The ducklings are quite pleased, but the chicks are hardly touching it. They just looks up at me like, "seriously, that's all you got?" Lol

How old are your chicks? It's actually bad to give them anything other than chick starter for at least the first four weeks.

You give chickens medicated chick feed or non medicated chick starter feed. Intell right before they lay eggs then they go on adult feed crumble or pellets mash . Layer feed feather fixer.no treat for the first 3 weeks after that you start slowly with meal worms grit oats barley corn kale baby grit.chick grit.

Chicks are going on 3 weeks, ducks are going on two. I have raised ducklings many times before and know when they can eat lettuce. They are fine. Chicks didn't touch the lettuce anyway so they are fine as well. But thanks.

Also, anything other than commercial feed, make sure you provide grit for them. TSC does sell both adult and chick sized grit.

I have a question when ducks and chicks housed together and you have chick and duck baby feed and treats together how do you segregation the food to keep ducks to eat duck food and baby chicks to eat chick food if there housed together .
