The Duck Thread

So... Tips on how to get ducks OUT of water? We let them out for the day as usual but A few ducks discovered the creek running through our property. Now they don't want to return at night. This creek has high banks along it about 8 inches of water with 1.5+ foot muck so it's not the easiest to walk in.
Maybe take away their feed before they go in, then lure them out when with a feed pail when they are hungry?

Great pics (you know how much I like a mixed flock) and yes Jeepers has darkened quite a bit. She is beautiful! :love   Keep an eye on her through this summer and fall.  If it is like last summer/fall was for us, she will just continue to amaze you every time you look at her. (And get some pics so you can amaze us a bit too ;) )  And I don't know if it is a breed thing, or an individual thing that has to do with preening, but Rhiannon is always the softest, fluffiest duck (with the exception of Tevye depending on the day) in our flock, but if it is a breed thing, you need to pick up Jeepers periodically just for the softness.:D
EEEEEEEEEEEEEE OVATION GREAT POST. PICK UP A DUCK FOR THEIR SOFTNESS OF BIRD AND THEIR WEBS AND THEIR ROUNDNESS OF DUCK. EXACTLY!!

They seemed disappointed when I didn't have a banana for them.

My drake is far from camera shy.
AAAAAAAGH I LOVE ALL YOUR PEKINS. Look at their webs in the snow and then their very round bodies. I cannot take it. I am going to go buy 17 ducks and make them house ducks. That way they can stand on my rental townhouse's laminate floor and I can note their webs. Is 17 a good number? 2 boys and 15 gurls. Yes.

That's a fabulous amount. Also I posted these and you were the first thing that came to mind, I thought you'd appreciate the adorableness.

Sorry to randomly post - My husband had an accident with the table saw on Thursday! :/ Lost two fingers and has one fused at the knuckle. ~Ugh~

Yesterday when I went out one of the ducks was stuck in the baby pool. My husband had taken out the bricks not realizing they couldn't get out. (He's on some heavy meds, so no telling why he took the bricks out to begin with.) It was sooo cold! We had frost. I took "her" inside and warmed her up. Poor little feet were red though. She has seemed fine since. Hopefully she wasn't stuck in the water for too long. I'm calling Cotton a she because it is the smaller of the two pekins.

I did hear one duck quack!! Not sure which one it was though. I kind of scared them when I came around the corner carrying some rakes.
We have two rouen and two pekin. One of the pekin is slightly smaller than the other, so maybe a male and female? Not a huge size difference though. The two rouen are the same size as each other, so two of the same.
