Does this look like a Rouen/Runner cross? If he gets a green head is he a cross and if not is he a purebred?
He is for sure a drake. :love

My duck got attacked by a dog and I don't know what to do. He's not seriously injured, but his back is completely unfeathered. The area is reddish-pink, but there's no blood or visible open wounds. I put a bit of peroxide and I guess it stung cause he started making a lot of noise after that.

Wow! My duck's feathers are beautiful! So happy!
Now I just have to wait for them to eclipse so I can accurately tell who is what sex. At least they're beautiful and outside!

Gorgeous!

Well rushed home and there are 6 dead. 3 I don't think will make it. The late bloomer isn't ready yet so we'll see. There is one little guy that is breathing and pulling through although he still has a bit of yolk that needs to be absorbed. I'm so crushed

. They were growing so well and I ****ed it up with such low humidity at lockdown, they weren't even able to turn around. This has been a hard day

So sorry. I hope the rest make it! You did the best you could, though, I'm sure.

I don't really know, but he stands up enough that he must be at least part Runner.

peroxide should always be diluted and only used to clean the wound after that i have seen in other post not to use it after the wound has been cleaned. Some neasporan with out pain relief in it can be put on its skin. He needs to be by him self so he can distress.

Okay, mostly he should be fine right? Is this something that ducks can recover from okay?
Yes, he maybe in shock now so I'd keep him contained the rest of the day and keep an eye on him make sure he has food and water available in case he wants it.

I'd make sure to watch out for this dog unless you've already taken care of it because it will come back.

I think he is at least part, because he doesn't seem as tightly feathered or slim as a pure Runner.
